Thursday Chat – Exciting Game Last Night!

Happy Thursday!

Did you watch the game last night?  I was beyond stressed out over that game! But very happy with the outcome. However, I could not sleep after, not with all that excitment mixed in with the sadness over the loss of my uncle. And he would have totally loved that game.

Now I’m up and I’m forced to leave the house today. It’s raining, so that helps.  I love the rain. I need to pick up meds for my mother. Not sure if I’ll take the camera or not. I guess I can take it with me and try to record a bit. It does not mean I have to upload it.

I can’t thank all of you enough for all the kind words you have for me, and especially for my mother. I will be sharing all your condolences with her. She hears me talk about my online family constantly and I know it comforts her that I have all of you in my life. Thank you for being here!

Have a great Thursday!

Wednesday Chat – Thank you to everyone

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

chat-wednesday

I want to thank everyone for their kind words about the sudden loss of my uncle. My mother has her moments, but for the most part, she is finding peace with her brother’s decision.  I, on the other hand, am going to a very angry stage. I’m sure that’s normal, but I went from sad to mad and I’m stuck there.  I will find my way to peace with his decision too, at some point.

I’m taking a little time away from youtube.  I just don’t feel up to it at all. Completely sick to my stomach. I have been throwing myself into Shaw’s deals since that is off camera, but my mind is just not thinking straight. I’m making so many mistakes. But it takes my mind off things, so zoning out at the computer is what I will do for now.

If you need to get caught up on what happened, please read this post.

A Very Sad Time for Our Family

Bob and Nancy Gallant

Yesterday, while I was in the middle of recording a sewing video, I got a devastating phone call. My cousin called to tell me that her father, who is my mother’s brother, age 79, took his own life.

My uncle Bob has been depressed since the passing of his wife, Nancy. His health has also been declining. He decided to put an end to his suffering. We are all shocked by this news, and my mother is heartbroken.

My heart pours out to my cousins, Diane and Jeff, and their families during this most difficult time. And it hurts so much to see my mother suffer yet another loss. At age 93, you get to see many people die before you. So much sadness.

I loved you both, Uncle Bob and Aunt Nancy. Will miss you always.

Since I have comments turned off on this blog (too much spam), please feel free to leave a message on this facebook post.   I will be reading them to my mother.

XOXO

Spooky Boo Brownies

Darlene’s Tips:  You could use any ready made brownies or even cookies, snack cakes, etc., then just add the marshmallow and drizzle the frosting. Quick and easy!

INGREDIENTS:

1 box Betty Crocker Original Supreme Premium brownie mix
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1.25 cups Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy Frosting creamy white frosting (from 16-oz container)
16 large marshmallows
Betty Crocker black decorating gel

search for ingredients here
search for coupons here

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Line 8- or 9-inch square pan with foil so foil extends about 2 inches over sides of pan. Spray foil with cooking spray.

Step 2: Make brownies as directed on box for 8- or 9-inch square pan. Stir brownie mix, water, oil and egg until well combined. Spread into the greased pan. Bake for 34-42 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool completely, about 1 1/2 hours. Remove brownies from pan by lifting foil; remove foil. For 16 brownies, cut into 4 rows by 4 rows.

Step 3: Heat frosting in microwavable bowl uncovered on High 30 seconds, stirring every 10 seconds, until frosting can be stirred smooth and fluid. If frosting becomes too firm while decorating, microwave 5 seconds; stir.

Step 4: Top each brownie with 1 large marshmallow. Spoon 1 tablespoon frosting over each marshmallow to coat. Let stand until frosting is set, about 30 minutes. Use black gel to make eyes and mouths.
