chat-monday

Happy Monday everyone!

I’m certainly not an early bird today.  Slept off and on until noon and I wish I could still be in bed. I have not been sleeping well lately at all.  I feel depression kicking in.  Anxious for darkness because I always feel better when it’s dark.

Yesterday, it was a gray day and it was the day we turned back the clocks.  I was in such good spirits!  I got an easy sewing tutorial uploaded for you, a simple pillow sham.  I will be making more of these, along with lots of other projects. I will also be making no-sew projects, so if sewing is not your thing, be sure you subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss out!  Let me know if you would like no-sew projects here!

Not sure what I’ll be doing today.  Not sure if I’ll ever feel awake enough to do anything. I must wait to see what the darkness brings! lol

Have a great Monday!

Darlene

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

chat-sunday

It’s Sunday!

IT WILL GET DARK EARLY TONIGHT!!!  Someome blow a trumpet because this is exciting news!!!  And I think for the first time in my life, I changed a clock before going to bed. My mother’s clock.  Mine will probably never get changed. lol And it’s a gray day, which is even better. So excited!!!

Last night I uploaded my October Youtube Earnings video and earnings went UP a little bit!  That’s the direction I like, up. lol  Hopefully November will be even better.  I was mega excited to see that my male viewership is growing!  And I talked a bit about TubeBuddy in that video too and showed you some other Youtuber’s impressive earnings. Love TubeBuddy (and it’s free!).

Not sure what I have planned for today but hopefully I’ll come up with a video idea. Might do another random facts. Those are fun to do and that series is gaining a nice following!  I really should sew something too.

I want to remind you about my other blogs:

Have a great Sunday!

Easy Pumpkin Spice Acorns Recipe

Easy Pumpkin Spice Acorns Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

36 mini vanilla wafer cookies
36 Hershey’s Kisses Brand Pumpkin Spice Chocolates
36 Reese’s peanut butter chips (or Hershey’s butterscotch chips)

Royal icing:
1 cup plus two tablespoons powdered sugar
1 tablespoon warm water
1.5 teaspoons pasteurized dried egg whites (meringue powder)

Darlene’s Tip: Don’t worry about the dried egg whites for the icing. You can totally make a paste with just powdered sugar and a few drops of water. You could also use a dab of melted chocolate to stick the kisses and morsels to the cookie. And you certainly don’t need to use the pumpkin spice kisses. Plain old chocolate will do!

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: (see my tip above) Prepare royal icing, stir together powdered sugar, warm water and pasteurized dried egg whites (meringue powder). Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until spreadable. Add additional water if needed, 1 teaspoon at a time, to get desired consistency.

Step 2: Place Royal Icing in pastry bag with small tip. Cover icing and tip of pastry bag with damp paper towel to keep icing from drying out. About 1/2 cup icing.

Step 3: Remove wrappers from Kisses.

Step 4: Place mini vanilla wafer cookies on tray or plate with flat side of cookie toward the top. Squeeze small amount of icing onto bottom of chocolate piece. Immediately press chocolate bottom onto vanilla wafer cookie. Allow icing to set.

Step 5: Place small dab of icing on bottom of peanut butter chip or butterscotch chip; immediately attach to top of cookie to finish acorn.

Saturday Chat – Woot Woot!!! We Finally Turn The Clocks Back Tonight! #BRINGONTHEDARKNESS

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

chat-saturday

Happy Saturday!

It’s a gray day! Yay!  Yesterday was too bright and sunny for my liking. I went out into that brightness and I swear it triggered me into a downward spiral. So glad today is gray!  My brain needed that.

You know what tonight is, right?  RIGHT???  We get to finally turn the clocks back so the days can get shorter!  So excited!!!  My second favorite night of the year. My first favorite will be tomorrow night when it gets dark early! There should be a holiday for that event!!!

Last night, I boiled a red frank and made a hot dog.  On camera. Yup!  And that simple video is getting lots of attention!  Do love!  I just regret that the camera was not rolling when my ketchup exploded. That would have been classic. lol  You can also watch my tag along to Walmart to watch me buy those red franks. What a fascinating life I lead. LOL

Today, I hope to record my Youtube Earnings video for the month of October. Then maybe I’ll feel up to sewing. Not sure.

Have a great Saturday!
