This is my little Skylar... the reason I took 2 weeks off!
I’m back from returning my granddaughter to Mississippi. Two long days of travel and I’m beat. However, I need to get back to the program and quick! The sales at Shaw’s are insane!
Here’s what I hope to accomplish today…
I want to walk around Shaw’s to figure out the best way to use the $5/$25 coupons that we have (no longer available so I hope you printed them when I said to!!!). Then I will try to come up with a couple scenarios along with links to coupons you can print. So, be sure you check my blog later tonight to see if I posted the plan of attack! It will be included in tomorrow’s update, but you might not want to wait.

It’s time for me to fly back to Mississippi to bring my granddaughter Skylar home. I will return to Maine on Saturday. I was planning on taking Sunday off to just rest, but deep down I know I’ll be back to work… ’cause I’m a workaholic :O)
I’ll be anxious to walk you through all the holiday deals we’ll be able to get. If you have not printed the $5/$25 coupon for Shaw’s… you must! I will be planning some awesome scenarios for that coupon to score free or almost free food. The coupon may no longer be available (I hope it is!). I don’t have time to look… I’m outta here!

Shaw’s recently started a fun new Wish Big Win Big Holiday Giveaway where they are giving away $15,000,000 in prizes! I ran into the store just to pick up a couple of items so I could finally see what the game is all about.
Here’s the deal… every time you shop you will get a ticket. Inside that ticket are 4 game pieces and a coupon (just keep the coupon, it’s not part of the game). You place the game pieces on the game board and if you fill up any one section on the board, you win that prize!
There are tons of items in the store that will also earn you bonus tickets. It’s quite possible to leave the store with 50 tickets or more, so 200 or more game pieces! The number of tickets you earn will be printed on the bottom of your receipt. Make sure your cashier remembers to give them to you!
Will it be easy to win? Probably not… at least not the super big prizes. But it will be fun trying! The game runs through February 9, 2012, so we have lots of time to try and win!
Get your game board at the store. It should be somewhere by the door. It’s just a glossy folded up paper, not an actual board.

If you normally buy Weight Watchers products, you are going to love this coupon! You will get 75¢ off any $5 Weight Watchers purchase. If you shop at Shaw’s, the coupon will double to $1.50 off! Wait for a sale so you can get more bang for your buck!

Remember that Shaw’s Cornucopia of Savings coupon booklet I told you about? I hope you picked up a couple! There is a coupon inside that’s going to get you some free Near East couscous!
Near East couscous is supposed to be on sale for $1 per box at Shaw’s starting Friday. When you use the $1 off coupon, it’s FREE! We like free, don’t we? Don’t like couscous? Pick up some boxes to donate to your local food pantry!
Check your Shaw’s to see if they still have booklets. Mine were in a display near the coupon center. If you don’t see them, ask customer service. They may have more that they just didn’t put out yet.
Thanks for the heads up I Love to Gossip!

I feel bad that I’ve not been able to post much of anything the past week other than some printable coupons. As you probably know, I have my 3 year old granddaughter with me and she consumes my every moment. I get a break when she naps or when she gets caught up in Dora the Explorer. But, mostly she wears me out :O)
I will be bringing Skylar back to Mississippi on Friday, then I fly back to Maine on Saturday. I plan on crashing resting Sunday then Monday I will be back to business! I want to plan some shopping scenarios that we can do to use up our $5/$25 Shaw’s coupons!!! If you have not printed those yet, you must print them NOW, if they are still available. I promise we will get some great deals, and when I say great, I mean almost or outright FREE!
I think she’s ready for a nap… woohoo!

There are lots of new coupons out for Hormel products including a high value $3 off a Hormel party tray! That will come in handy over the holidays!
Remember, always check the reduced sections at Shaw’s for Hormel products. I often see pepperoni on clearance in reduced deli and bacon bits in reduced produce. If you find them on clearance, you can get them really cheap or even free after the coupons double!

There is a new coupon you can print that will get you $5 off a $25 purchase at Shaw’s (also Jewel, Albertsons, Acme & Cub Foods & Farm Fresh Supermarkets).
What I love, love, LOVE about this coupon is that you only have to meet the $25 minimum before coupons, not after! Even better, it does not say you have to scan your Shaw’s card first! That means as long as the shelf price of the items total $25, you’re good to go!
If you play your cards right, you should be able to shop for FREE food (buy $25 shelf price, scan card to bring it down, use coupons to get it down to $5, use your $5 off and you pay nothing).
I will be doing some scenarios you can follow, but it won’t be until I bring my granddaughter back to Mississippi. I get back on the 12th and hope to shop on the 13th or 14th. Subscribe to this blog so you can see what I do and copy me!
Print NOW because this coupon campaign will not last long! You get two prints per computer.

It looks like Hood has reset their coupons and they are offering one that has me very excited… it’s 50¢ off any size Hood egg nog! I bet egg nog will go on sale at Shaw’s and we will be able to pick up a quart really cheap after this coupon doubles. Remember, if there is no size restriction, it’s better to buy small to max out your savings!
Below is a list of all the Hood coupons. You get two prints per computer with Hood.
NOTE: The coupons state no doubling, but the code starts with 5 so the 50¢ should still double nicely at Shaw’s. Of course, if your cashier wants to enter it manually to skip the doubling, that’s what you need to let them do… and don’t cry until you get to the car.
$1/2 Hood cottage cheese any size
$1/2 Hood sour cream any size
$1/2 Hood cream 16 oz or larger
$.50/1 Hood country creamer
$.50/1 Hood chocolate milk 1/2 gallon
$1/1 Hood Simply Smart milk any size
$1/2 Hood ice cream or novelties any size
$.50/1 Hood egg nog any size

Food on the Table is a meal planning service that supposedly helps you plan meals based on sale prices at your local grocery stores. I have not tried it yet so I’m not sure how it all works. But, I checked to see what stores are available in my area and I found Shaw’s, Save-A-Lot and Market Basket are all part of the program.
In addition to organizing your shopping list, Food on the Table also provides thousands of recipes. If you want to check it out, just click on the image above. Then leave a comment and let me know what you think. It’s free to sign up. I’m not sure if they try to charge you down the road. I’m anxious to have time to look into it more.
