I priced Progresso when I ran in to pick up the flyer and the Traditional in Sanford is $2.29 reg price and the Rich & Hearty is $2.49. Not sure if they will make them the same price for the new sale or not, but this gives you a starting point. I know we get them cheaper at times, but I’m big on these soups so anything around $.65 is good for me.

I want to point out that Shaw’s will have bananas on sale for $.19/lb as part of their 3 Day Sale 10/4-10/6. This is such a great price! I want to give you some tips for freezing bananas!
To Freeze Bananas: Peel them, bag them whole, try to suck out some of the air, and freeze! You can break off what you need or easily pry apart with a knife, then just toss the rest back in the freezer.
For Baking or Pancakes: I like to let my bananas ripen before freezing if they are going to be used for baking. A ripe banana tastes more bananary! 😉 When they thaw, they may ooze some brownish juice. Add that juice to the batter!
For Smoothies: If you freeze bananas on the green side, they are perfect for rich and thick smoothies! Plop them into the blender while frozen.
For Fruit Salads: The greener the banana is when frozen, the better. They will thaw with very little discoloration and they stay fairly firm.
Stock up at $.19 per pound and you’ll have bananas for lots of recipes when you need them!

Shaw’s is going to have an awesome GM sale starting Friday. If you notice, there is no mention of having to buy 4 at a time or anything like that! We can get the sale price when buying just one!
I will have a shopping scenario for you later, but right now I just want to get the coupons out to you. If you see that I missed any (I’m sure I did), please leave a comment to let me and others know!

I just got back from picking up my cheap chicken and eggs at Sanford Shaw’s and I have two things I want to tell you. If you can make it to Shaw’s today, you might want to pay attention! It might be heading over there even if you were not planning on going out today.
ONE: Sanford Shaw’s is all out of chicken thighs. They have plenty of drumsticks, but no thighs. If you mosey on over there, you can get a rain check! That means you will be able to pick up chicken at $.88/lb later, at your leisure, when you have more room in the freezer! The $.88/lb sale ends today, so you have to get your rain check today. They gave me a rain check for 10 pounds at that price. This is what I call rain check shopping.
TWO: Sanford Shaw’s has a promotion on cases of Essential Everyday canned veggies. This is not something they will get in stock again (at least not expected to) and they only have 9 cases left and none out back. They have 3 corn, 1 cut green beans, and 5 French style green beans. These are in aisle 4 and they are on a metal stand, not on the shelf. There are 12 cans to a case and they are $6.99, so that works out to $.58 per can which is a very good price for canned veggies and no coupon needed! If you go for the chicken rain check, consider picking up a case or two.
If you are not in Sanford, you may want to call your Shaw’s and ask if they are also out of chicken thighs (warehouse might be out?) and if they are, head on over and get a rain check. Also ask if they have the cases of veggies.

This is one mighty hot coupon! It can be used on a single roll of Sparkle (says 3 roll or smaller), so if we hit a sale on the single Big Roll at Shaw’s, we will score a fantastic deal on paper towels after the coupon doubles!

We have a coupon in the upcoming SmartSource insert that will make for some super cheap taco seasoning or chili mix! And the coupon is good through the end of the year, so if Ortega goes on sale at Shaw’s or Stop & Shop or anywhere the coupons double, there’s a very good chance to score some freebies!
