Have you joined SavingStar yet? If not… what are you waiting for?

Everyone drags their feet about joining SavingStar and that’s mostly because people just don’t really understand how it all works. I was one of those people. Then, even after I finally joined, I did nothing about it for months.

I have since learned that joining SavingStar is a good move, even if you never clip a coupon. That’s because SavingStar gives you money back simply for buying items on their eCoupon list.

I activate every SavingStar eCoupon as they come out and I print a new list each time to keep in my coupon box. Then when I’m out and about, if I think I remember a SavingStar deal, I have my list handy and know exactly that to buy to get my refund!

Oh, and joining SavingStar is FREE! Yes, FREE!  And we like FREE!

Basically, here’s how SavingStar works:
1. Register with SavingStar
2. Add your store cards to your account
3. Activate all the SavingStar eCoupons
4. Shop for participating items
5. Get money back via paypal (or other options)

So, why should you join SavingStar today? Because it can take a bit of time to register and add your cards. I mean really, you have to get up and get your wallet. Then you have to remember what you got up for! Then you’ll end up doing something else like starting a load of laundry.  You will also need your reading glasses. They might be on your head, or in the bathroom, or between the couch pillows. See how long it can take to register?  So don’t dilly dally… just sign up!

In my area (Sanford, ME), I was able to add Shaw’s, Hannaford, CVS and Rite Aid to my SavingStar account. Your location may offer many more options. You will need your store cards handy to enter the numbers into your account. For Hannaford, use the number on your little Hannaford sticker. For Shaw’s, request your tag.

More and more bloggers are including SavingStar eCoupons in their matchups. So, it’s easy to know what to buy and when. Even if you don’t use any of the eCoupons right away, sign up now so you will be ready for when a good deal comes along!

Remember, to get the money back savings, you always have to scan your card when you shop!  Many times when you use manufacturer coupons along with SavingStar eCoupons, you end up getting FREE stuff! Did I mention we like FREE?

IGNORE THIS!  I just got back from Hannaford and the coupon beeped for the mini. The cashier put it through since the wording does not specify size/type.  The way Hannaford’s coupons are coded, it really should not have beeped.  I scanned the strawberry coupon first and I’m wondering if it only wants to allow one produce coupon??? I suggest if you try it that you do not buy strawberries at the same time. Try just the watermelon coupon, and if it beeps point out that you are indeed buying a whole seedless watermelon… but you’ll be at the mercy of the cashier.

Please let me know if you get a beep or not and if it was self scan or with a cashier. You can post here. Thanks!

*** ANOTHER UPDATE *** 

Others are using the coupon on the mini watermelons with no beeps and no issues! I bet it’s because I went through self scan. Feel free to use the coupon!

About a week ago, I posted a Hannaford coupon for whole seedless watermelon. That coupon does not state what size the watermelon has to be, so we can use it on the whole mini watermelons!

Here’s the deal at Hannaford:

Buy (1) whole seedless mini watermelon on sale for $2.49
Use (1) $2/1 whole seedless watermelon coupon (exp 7/19 so hurry!)
Final price is only $.49 for watermelon!

If you are thinking that coupon was intended for the large watermelons, it probably was. But, it can be used on the mini because it satisfies the wording on the coupon. It is whole. It is seedless. It is watermelon. Period :O)

And don’t forget your strawberries!!!  Get a pound of fresh strawberries for only $1.00… see this post!

NEW COUPON: $1/1 Talenti Gelato plus Hannaford Scenario

There is a coupon that popped up today for a brand I’ve never heard of before… Talenti.  I looked where we can buy it using the Talenti Store Locator and see that Hannaford carries it. I don’t see Walmart or Shaw’s listed but it’s always a good idea to look around!

Here’s the deal at Hannaford (this is expensive stuff!):

Buy (1) Talenti Gelato at $4.99
Use (1) $.55/1 Talenti Gelato printable coupon
Final price is $4.44… I’d have to be hit over the head to spend that much! LOL

If anyone knows if Shaw’s carries this, please let me know. Our best bet would be to wait for a sale where the coupon will double!

HIGH VALUE COUPON: $1.75/3 Kikkoman Sauces or Marinades Plus Catalina Deal

There is a catalina deal you can do at Hannaford or Shaw’s (or more stores depending on your location) that works nicely with the new coupon that came out for Kikkoman!

First, print the coupon.  But WAIT! You must “like” them on facebook first so the coupon will print at $1.75/3 instead of $1.25/3.  When you get to the coupon page, click on the like button that I so beautifully pointed out to you with my fancy artwork…

After you “like” them, you will then need to “like” the coupon. Then you can cancel when it asks you to post on facebook (or whatever it said). The coupon will pop up at $1.75/3 and you print right there from facebook.

NOTE: It looks like you might still be able to print the $1.25/3 after because I still see it in my Coupon Network account.

You can hold the coupon for a sale, or you can do a catalina deal at Hannaford or Shaw’s. I don’t know the price at Shaw’s but Hannaford has several varieties of Kikkoman at $1.99.

Here’s the deal at Hannaford:

Buy (3) Kikkoman at $1.99 each
Use (1) $1.75/3 Kikkoman printable coupon (must like them to get $1.75/3)
Pay $4.22 at the register so $1.40 each
Get $2 catalina toward next purchase wyb 3 (exp 7/8)

I would hold out for a sale on small bottles. They sometimes go on sale for $1.00.  Another option is to use the Q on packets of Kikkoman Sauce or Marinade. Those will not trigger the catalina, but the coupon states any Kikkoman Sauces or Marinades and does not mention bottles (ignore the image on the coupon and go by the wording).
