EXTREME COUPONER TIP: If you live near a Hannaford, go in every day and pick up a freebie or cheapie from meat and deli that you can toss in the freezer (you can get egg rolls in deli!). Little by little, it adds up to lots of goodies in your freezer for very little money… pennies, even!
There is also a $1 OFF Produce catalina this week
NOTE: The pdf coupons state one per household but they have always allowed customers to use one each time they shop. You can only use one meat and one deli coupon at a time, but you can use both in the same transaction.

Each time you shop at Hannaford between Jan 14 and Jan 20, have the cashier scan your myHannaford sticker and you will get a coupon for $1.00 OFF a future produce purchase.

Here’s how you can use the coupon during your current shopping trip:
Pick up ONE cheapie item like a 20¢ donut hole. Have the cashier scan your myHannaford sticker, pay for that ONE item and get your $1 off Produce coupon from the catalina machine (they’ll give it to you with your receipt).
Now, turn around and get at least a $1.00 worth of produce items and you can use the coupon! You can pick up some cheap or free kiwi fruits, bananas, small potatoes, etc.
You will get a new $1 off Produce coupon each time you shop. So, keep your trips tiny so you can get lots of produce coupons and keep rolling them over! You can only use one per transaction.
NOTE: You can’t scan your myHannaford sticker at the self-scan. You need to go to a cashier if you want to get the $1 off Produce coupon.
Print and use these Hannaford coupons too!

There is also a $5 off $50 catalina this week, but I doubt that Hannaford will allow you to use both the $5/$50 and the $3/$40 in the same transaction. If you try it, have them scan the $5 off coupon first, then hand them the $3 off. That way if you can’t use both, you will at least get the higher value of $5 off.

Each time you shop at Hannaford between Jan 7 and Jan 13, have the cashier scan your myHannaford sticker and you will get a coupon for $5.00 off a $50 purchase.
If you are going shopping and think you will spend over $50, here is what you do:
Pick up ONE cheapie item. Just one. Have the cashier scan your myHannaford sticker, pay for that ONE item and get your $5 off $50 coupon from the catalina machine (they’ll give it to you with your receipt). Then do the rest of your shopping and you’ll be able to use your $5 off coupon to pay down the bill!
You will get a $5 off $50 coupon each time you shop. If you think you will be spending over $100, split your shopping into TWO $50 trips and use a $5 off coupon for each trip! Bring your calculator!
If you get a $5 off $50 and you know you’ll never use it (I know I won’t because I never spend $50 in one shot) hand it over to someone else who is checking out. They will totally appreciate it!

I know it’s not quite the end of the month, but it’s pretty close. It’s a good idea to start printing your coupons NOW so you don’t have to print them all in one day.
Remember, many coupons go away on the last day of the month. On the other hand, some of them reset. If you can print the resets this month and next month, you will have more coupons! More coupons means more savings!
PRINTING TIP: Most coupon sites give you 2 prints per computer. Sometimes it’s hard to find the little buggers after the first print, especially on coupons.com. What I do is open 2 matching windows then I click the coupons I want to print in both windows. When I’m done, I print the coupons in each window! Works like a charm!

Every now and then, I gather my coupons that I know will get me free stuff and I head out on a mission to get only free things!
The items you see above were purchased at Walmart, Shaw’s, CVS and Hannaford (and Peeps from Rite Aid not in the photo). I was only successful at getting half the items on my list due to the stores being out of stock (Panko, Pom, KY, and more.) or due to store prices being higher than I expected (Say Yes to Carrots, DC Sea Salt), but it was a good run just the same!
Oh, I tried twice to get to Save-A-Lot for free scissors, but I both times I got there too late (closed by 8pm???). They supposedly have Scotch scissors on sale for $1 and I have coupons for $1 off. I hope to get there today!
Here’s how I got all the stuff you see for FREE! I don’t have time right now to list all the coupons. If you want to know where to get certain coupons, just ask and I’ll see if I can find the source!!!
Walmart:
6 rolls Duck brand packing tape (free after coupon)
6 Johnson’s baby powder (money maker after coupon)
6 Johnson’s baby lotion (money maker after coupon)
4 packs AAA Rayovac batteries (money maker after coupon)
8 boxes Dulcolax (money maker after coupon)
12 pints Oakhurst egg nog (12 cents each after coupons)
After all the overages from the money makers, Walmart paid me $1.33 cash. I used that money to cover the cost of the other transactions at the other stores.
Shaw’s:
(4) 2-liters Coke Zero (free after coupons)
(2) 20 ounce Diet Cokes (free after coupons)
4 rolls Homelife toilet paper (money maker after coupons)
1 Diamond Crystal kosher salt (money maker after coupons and SavingStar)
1 Diamond Crystal salt sense (10 cents after coupons and SavingStar)
Hannaford:
2 cans pineapple (19 cents each after coupons)
CVS:
1 box Band Aids (free after coupon)
2 bags Ricola (25 cents each after coupons)
1 Carmex lip balm (money maker after coupon)
Rite Aid:
8 boxes of Peeps (free after coupons) – not in photo because I immediately gave them to my mother.
The $1.33 that I got from Walmart covered all other items plus the tax plus the deposit on one soda. All I had to pay was the deposit on the other 5 bottles of soda and I will get that back! So, I got everything for nothing!

Hannaford has a Proctor & Gamble catalina deal running Dec 4 through Dec 10. Each time you buy $12 worth of participating P&G items, you will get a catalina coupon for $3 off your next purchase.
Remember, if you have coupons, you can use them when you buy these items!
Participating Items: Pantene, Nice’n Easy, Secret, Old Spice, Olay, Gillette, Prilosec OTC, Pepto Bismol, Oral-B, Crest.

Here is an awesome FREEBIE those of us who love free stuff! There is a new coupon for $1 off Poland Spring sparkling water. The one liter bottles are just 95¢ at Hannaford so you can get them for FREE with this coupon! They might be free at Shaw’s too. I’m not sure of the price but will check.
The last time this coupon came out, I got the full $1 off so it covered the bottle deposit. All I paid was the tax! If you don’t like sparkling water, you can make carbonated juice drinks by mixing 1/2 sparkling water and 1/2 juice! You can also add your favorite sweetener. Delish!
Below are some other sparkling water coupons, but I don’t know if there is a good deal to go with them. I get free seltzer and sparking water so often that I’m NEVER willing to pay for it now. Free is always better :O)

I just posted about some new eCoupons over at SavingStar, but this My Essentials sugar deal is so sweet that it deserves its own post!
First, sign up for SavingStar (if you are not a member yet) then click here to activate the My Essentials Sugar eCoupon. Make sure you have your myHannaford sticker attached to your account.
Then next time you head out to Hannaford, buy a 5 lb bag of My Essentials sugar. Be sure you have the cashier scan your myHannaford sticker!
The sugar is currently $3.39 but you will get $2 back in your SavingStar account! That means you end up paying just $1.39 for 5 pounds of sugar!
