Facebook fan, April, was so kind as to provide me with this list of coupons that come with the freezer that you can buy at Shaw’s.  I have not seen an ad in the flyer yet and not all stores have the freezers in stock yet, but the freezer is $170 and you get $170 of coupons with it!  I’ll have more details about the freezer when I know more.

I can’t promise that this list is the exact same in all regions, but it gives you a very good idea of what you get.  And this looks like much better coupons than last year.  Look at all the freebies!

UPDATE on Oscar Mayer Carving Board Meats Deal at Shaw’s

We have a wee bit of an issue with the sale on Oscar Mayer Carving Board Meats at Shaw’s. I’ve had at least two readers tell me that they are not priced $3.50 like they are supposed to be, and the ounces of the meats don’t match what the flyer says.

Reader Melissa asked Dan on Shaw’s facebook page about the meats.  He posted this list of the meats that are included in the sale.  Print this and take it with you when you pick up your meat!

ANOTHER UPDATE!  Man, this deal is starting to get old! LOL  Dan now says that the meats listed below are all part of the $5 instant savings sale but are not necessarily part of the $3.50 sale.  What I want to know is this… is there any meat that is $3.50?  The ad is very deceiving as it does not say only certain varieties. (thanks for the update, Stephanie!)

** IMPORTANT ** Read this if you plan on doing the All Detergent SavingStar deal at Shaw’s

We might have a bump in the road with the All Detergent SavingStar offer.  I was including the “free” detergents as part of the $15 minimum purchase that we must meet to get the $5 SavingStar refund.  I had several readers question that scenario and several more who said they shopped bogo sales in the past and the “free” items did not count.

I contacted SavingStar and I was told that since the “free” items ring up as zero, they will not count.  I do not like this wording in their reply because when I sent my question I specifically told them that our free items ring up as regular price then are deducted after the fact. So our items are not actually ringing up as zero.

I talked to Shaw’s last night after I got that reply from SavingStar and although they can’t be sure, they said the bogos both ring up at regular price then it deducts as “free item” but does not specifically state the item. 

What this all boils down to is that I’m no longer sure that buying 4 All Detergents will satisfy SavingStar, and that brings the price up for the All.  If you do the deal, you may very well have to spend on more All stuff to reach the $15 minimum to get your refund.

My advice is if you are a newbie, or if you are not desperate for detergent, skip this deal!  It’s just not worth the headache.  I will not be doing it because I don’t want to take the chance that it does not work, especially since I really don’t need detergent.

If anyone does the deal like this post says, and it works for you, please let us know!

My Shopping Trip at Shaw’s

I thought I’d let you know what I got tonight at Shaw’s. I spent almost $24 which is a lot for me!  I was almost depressed until I looked at everything I got.  I was too tired to set up for a photo, so I’ll just tell you.

12 big cans RedPack tomatoes

2 cans Lucky Leaf pumpkin pie filling

4 pounds Carolina rice

6 pork chops

8 bananas

7 tomatoes

2 pounds carrots

1 bag almonds

1 bag hazelnuts

5 sweet potatoes

1 loaf French bread

1 bag Shaw’s cookies

I shopped for my produce in reduced and had coupons for lots of the stuff.

Total after I get my SavingStar refund for the pie filling is $23.47 and it looks like mostly healthy stuff!

I think that was a good score considering the total before savings was $56.71. And that total would have been way more had I paid full price for the reduced bread and reduced produce.
