Bat Cupcakes – Halloween Recipe Stuff you might like: NOTE: Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not test this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it! INGREDIENTS: 1 box Betty Crocker SuperMoist dark chocolate cake mix Darlene’s Tips: You can just make any old chocolate cupcakes. You don’t need to add the crushed cookies and buttermilk. You can bake according to the box then decorate as you wish using the image as a guide! I think the bats are super cute! DIRECTIONS: 1 Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups. 2 In large bowl, beat cake mix, buttermilk, oil and eggs with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes. Stir in crushed cookies. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups. 3 Bake 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely. 4 Stir food color into frosting; frost cupcakes. Insert 1 chocolate wafer cookie piece on each side of cupcake to look like bat wings. Place 1 miniature sandwich cookie between cookie pieces for bat body. Squeeze 2 small dots white icing onto each cookie; attach candy eyes. It’s Saturday! I woke up early. I tried so hard to fall back to sleep but it never happened. Now I wish I had just gotten up in the first place. Oh well! Yesterday was a funky day and not in a very good way. I hope today is better. But there are always more lousy days ahead! That’s reality talking. Not depression. lol I was not up to being on camera yesterday so I decided it was a good time to make my mother some more fudge. This is by far her favorite batch so far! It requires taking lots of pics, doing lots of fabric measuring, then setting up all the posts and paypal buttons. All stuff I pretty much hate doing. So why do I even bother? I don’t know. Addicted to work, I guess. And sometimes I’m willing to work hard and not always enjoy it. lol As soon as I know a Fabric Frenzy date, I will announce it! I get many asking what that thing is that I have on my quilting ruler. It’s a shower handle! And they are priced anywhere from $12 to $15 each at Walmart. Right now on Amazon, you can score 2 of these babies for only $12.69 total with FREE shipping! But you must hurry because price can go up at any time! I’m not sure if they are the exact same as mine, but I’m sure they will do the trick. I will never again use a quilting ruler without a handle. Just so easy to pick it up and move it around! And you can press down to hold it firmly on your fabric. Oh, and if you have a hole in your ruler so that you can hang it, just cover it with a piece of tape (I put tape on both sides) so your shower bar can still get suction. My shower bars do eventually get loose. I just do the suction again and I’m ready to rumble! It says they are 12″ so they would work for any 12″ or larger ruler! Ghostly Banana Pops – Halloween Recipe NOTE: Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not test this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it! INGREDIENTS: 4 small bananas Darlene’s Tips: Pour melted candy into a tall glass for easy dipping. Put in refrigerator or freezer to set quickly. And if you want to make this really simple, don’t even dip the bananas! Just put stick chocolate chips with the pointy side in the banana. Might work! Or use tiny pieces of black licorice for the eyes. For sure that will work! DIRECTIONS: 1 Cut each banana crosswise in half; insert 1 craft stick into cut end of each banana half. 2 Melt candy melts as directed on package. Dip each banana into melted candy to cover; tap off excess. Place on waxed paper. Attach 2 candies to each banana to look like eyes. Let stand 10 minutes or until set. Serve immediately.
