Happy Saturday!
We were in bed by 10:30pm last night. Took a while for me to sleep, but it felt good to just be horizontal.
We were so busy yesterday! Along with all our other stuff we normally do (crafts, sewing, cards, games) we also got the future fabric orders ready for ebay. Skylar removed all the tags and staples, I did all the cutting, we both folded and Skylar made all the stacks. Then she got the idea to iron the fat quarters and one by one, she took all 128 fat quarters and pressed then after they were folded just to make them look neater, she said. This is not a step I will be continuing with after she is gone. lol
I hope to have the listing for the fat quarters up later today. Stay tuned!
I also want to sit with Skylar today and have her sew in cotton. So far she has only used felt. The felt was good because it was stiffer so in a way easier to feed under the foot. But cotton is the fabric dreams are made of! As soon as she can sew a somewhat straight seam on cotton, we will work on her very first quilt. I would like her to make the top all on her own, and I can help her with the rest. She wants to make four mini quilts, one for each of their pets. I’ll be quite satisfied if we can knock out even one! I told her they can share for now. lol
Not sure what else we are doing today. It’s not hot so it’s a good day to get some stuff done around here, like maybe we can go through old toys and she can help decide if anything can be donated. I’m hopeful that with her, I’ll be able to clear some stuff out.

TGIF!
It’s a beautiful GRAY DAY! And not hot. I so needed this! It makes me feel alive! I have lots of plans for today including shopping for fabric for ebay listings!
Yes, I said it. I’m going to attempt a fabric listing. But here is how it’s going to work. I do not want to sell the fabric first then go shopping for the fabric after the fact because I have no clue if the timing will be right later. There are too many factors while Skylar is here. But I heard it through the grapevine that the sale bins are back. I want some of that!
My plan is to shop in advance, get the fabric cut and packaged, then do the listing. Everyone will get to see the exact prints they will receive and when they order. All I’ll have left to do is get the packages in the mail. I think this is going to work! Quite sure the fabric will sell and I will not be stuck with it. And it will be fun for Skylar to help with the mailing process. She can also help fold the fabric and make the piles. She won’t be doing the cutting. That is my job.
Other than that, we still need to empty out a dresser for Skylar’s clothing. Meant to do that yesterday. It didn’t happen. It will happen today. I also have a toilet seat I need to swap out. I was able to put my new shower head in. Do love it! You can see the toilet seat and shower head purchases in this tag along.
Did you see that Skylar is learning to sew on a machine? Yes, she is! I’m so freaking excited to see her doing that. She is doing great so far. She practiced for about two hours last night and was right back at it this morning. Now she’s back at mixing paint. She still loves the paint! lol
Skylar also has a new video on her channel. She made some Easy Summer Parfait Desserts! Parfaits are a very fun dessert that kids can put together. If you don’t feel like making the gelatin or pudding, just buy the ready made cups and use those for a variety of colors!
Happy to announce that my latest 3 auctions found new homes! And I’m thrilled that my Wonky Quilt is indeed going to a dog, a Boxer pup from Tennessee! I was hoping so much a dog would be able to enjoy it. I hope I get to see a pic of the pup enjoying his new blankie. So excited! You can see what the winning bids were for my latest creations on ebay here.
Skylar is getting antsy so I better stop now. We will be taking the cameras with us for our Marden’s trip. Stay tuned!

Happy Thursday!
This post is very late. I didn’t even realize I forgot to post until now. Let’s put it this way… I’m exhausted! But more mentally than physically. It’s painful for me to go off my schedule. My schedule is my lifeline. That will get easier in a few days. It’s like I’m going through withdrawals right now.
We had a very busy day so far. Got up. Did some paint crafts. My mother had 2 appointments today with in-home care. Then we took my mother out for a ride! Yes, we did. She felt like going out. She did not get out of the car (and I did not bring the camera so as not to worry her… she hates cameras) but she waited while Skylar and I ran a few errands. And we stopped at the library for some DVDs. At first Skylar picked out some kid movies but then changed her mind and got 3 Dora the Explorer, 1 Curious George and settled for one more grown up kid movie, Diary of a Wimpy Kid (we love those!). And then she announced to the librarian that she felt funny because she was getting baby shows. LOL The librarian was so nice and said those DVDs are for all ages! And of course, I said I love them too. Funny how Skylar is now at an age where she knows she’s growing up but still loves the younger stuff and is embarrassed to say so. My goodness, the stress begins early!
When we got back, Skylar and I played cards for a bit and I also did some laundry. Now I just fed my mother and Skylar dinner and Skylar is napping. I’m glad. It means she will be up late tonight so she will sleep later tomorrow. I kind of need her on my sleep schedule.
When she does wake up, I might start her on sewing. I need to get our table top machine up and running for her. I could do that while she’s sleeping then she will be surprised when she wakes. So fun!

Happy hump day everyone!
I survived night one of Skylar’s vacation! Barely. I was super tired last night from having to get up early (yes, 9:30am is too early for me). We were busy with crafting until 8:00pm. That is my cutoff time for crafts. We have to have everything cleaned up and put away by 8:00pm. If we do anything after that, it has to be something easy and clean, like playing cards or make a puzzle. Just don’t want to clean up paint. lol
Then Skylar fell asleep at 9:30pm which was wonderful. I thought. I started editing the Ride Along to the Portland Jetport video. Those videos are an editing nightmare due to the two cameras. I had over 1.5 hours of footage total. I cut it down to about 15 minutes. I was finally done working on that at 2:30am. I went to bed and fell asleep around 3:30am. Skylar was up and wide awake at 4:00am. It was pure torture. I could not keep my eyes open and at one point I woke up to her dripping water from a straw on to my face. It actually felt kind of good. I fell asleep with a soaking wet face. This back and forth went on for 3 hours. She wanted french toast. I was not cooking. I remembered that they had some PB&J wraps so she had that then I insisted she lay back down. She slept. I slept off and on until 10:00am. I’m a mess.
We leave for the airport a bit later then Skylar and I plan on hitting Market Basket on the way home to pick up a few groceries and ingredients for concoctions. Tonight I must be in bed by midnight the latest. Even if Skylar is wide awake (which she will be since she slept late today), she can just watch TV. I hope so much I can sleep.
Yesterday’s Ride Along video is here. I also recorded some footage of stuff we did at the house. I have not had time to start editing that. I hope to do that today. But when??? lol
Have a great Wednesday!
Darlene xoxo
