What I Ate Yesterday – Day 44 – Read My Article Inside This Blog Post!

A Note to Those of You Who Are Waiting to Try This Later!  (you might not be ready, and here’s why I say so)

I see so many people in the ZIOH public facebook group say they are waiting until after the holidays before trying this way of eating.  Some said this before Thanksgiving!  They are so excited to try this, yet they rather wait until the new year to start.  WHY???  If you are suffering with cravings, inflammation, depression, anxiety, high blood sugar, headaches, skin issues, and all that stuff, why on earth would you wait to feel better?  It might be that you’re just not ready to feel better.  Sounds strange, I know.  But you might be just so used to feeling like crap, and you are probably convinced that nothing will help, so you put it off until later.  It’s like you are saving yourself from possible disappointment.

If you were crushed under a car, and if someone came by to set you free, would you ask them to help you later? Would you choose to stay pinned under the car for another few weeks or even a few more days because you fear the unknown, like what if your legs will never work again?  Or would you want to get out right away and take your chances that you’ll feel much better?  I’m thinking you want to get out.  Right NOW!  The pain of being crushed under a car is probably too much to bear.  Anything would be better than dying under the car.  No need to prolong the suffering!

So, if a new way of eating sounds like it might be right for you, but if you are willing to wait until later, it might be that you are not crushed under a car.  I WAS!  I was completely crushed and saw no way out.  And then Kelly Hogan came by and offered to free me and put me on her wagon.  I jumped at this chance immediately!  And it was before Thanksgiving.  I didn’t give a rat’s ass about how this was going to affect my holidays.  I only cared about getting out from under the car.  I wanted to be saved.

It’s okay to wait and try something later.  But if you fall off the wagon soon after starting, or if you fall off repeatedly, please don’t say this way of life did not work for you.  It’s more likely that you just are not ready.  Maybe you’re not in enough pain to appreciate the benefits of this way of life.  Or maybe you don’t think you deserve better.  If you are truly suffering, and if you get almost instant relief by eating meat, you will not want to look back.  It’s that remarkable!!!  At least it is for me. And for many others too.

I have links below to reading info for those of you who want to read up on this way of life.  Or you can just try it and decide for yourself.  Even if you try it for a few days, you can always go back to eating the way you are eating now.  Or you might discover that there is no turning back. You might not want to get back under the car that is crushing you.

Yesterday – Friday 12/30 – Day 44

I had my usual cup of coffee with hwc when I got up.  I do this pretty much every single day.

At 4:30pm, I had a brand new roast that I purchased during this Ride Along video.  I shopped late because I had to dig my car out from under the snow.  So I ate late.  I cooked some ground beef with bacon ends and a hot sausage link cut into pieces. Then I added some rotisserie chicken to warm it up.  I put that in my plate then quickly cooked some slices of beef until rare (this batch ended up more like medium rare).  I cooked all that in butter and poured the bacon fat and butter over my meal.  I ate only about half of what you see above.

At 5:0pm, I finished off my meal with a decafe with hwc.

At 10:00pm, I got a little bit hungry but not too hungry.  I figured it was best to eat more meat just to be on the safe side, because that’s what we cave girls do. We eat meat whenever we want!  I took the container of my lunch leftovers and only picked at it.  I picked mostly at the sliced beef because that is my favorite.  I ate it cold.  I realized I wasn’t really all that hungry so I only ate a few pieces then I went to bed.  But I did have a swig of cream first and guzzled down some water.

NOTE:  Yesterday was a low appetite day for me.  That sometimes happens. I consumed just a bit more than half of what you see on my plate for the entire day.  I think my appetite will decrease over time. That seems to be what happens with the vets.  Many end up eating just one meal per day because they feel completely satisfied and they find it’s enough fuel for their bodies.  But at the beginning, it’s important to not let yourself get hungry.  Eat as much meat as you need to feel satisfied.  Let your body and mind learn how to tell you when it’s enough.  It has probably been abused by carbs over the years. It needs time to readjust.  Give it time!

Food that entered my mouth yesterday:  sliced beef, chicken, ground beef, bacon ends, hot sausage, butter, light cream, heavy whipping cream, coffee, salt, pepper, lots of water.

You can watch THIS VIDEO to learn why I’m doing this.

This is the facebook group I’m in.  It’s a public group so you can read the posts without joining.

I will be talking about this new way of life often on my Youtube channel, so please subscribe and you won’t miss a thing!

This is the article that I stumbled upon by Kelly Hogan which got me immensely excited.   And this is Kelly’s blog.

PLEASE READ: Please remember that it’s MY CHOICE to eat the way I want. If you think this is unhealthy, know I’m not as concerned with physical health. I’m more concerned with my mental health. I’m on a mission to feel better mentally… without cravings!!! I’m willing to test this so you don’t have to! But what works for me might not work for you. I’m not doing this to lose weight. I’m doing this because I’m convinced that I’m overly sensitive to carbs and that I must stay away from them if there is any chance of me feeling better. I’m eating from the animal kingdom only, like the complete opposite of vegan. I know this upsets many, but I promise I won’t eat your pets. You are free to follow my progress/failures and you can even disagree with what I do. Just remember that I will get the last word because it’s my blog, my channel, my life! That’s the new me talking! (I think I’m growing balls! Let me look… yes, I see one starting to grow!)

Happy Saturday!

The sun is shining bright and it’s 32 degrees, so I’m pretty sure more snow will melt today.  A lot melted yesterday which is why the roads were so clear during my Ride Along with Me video.

I have so much stuff to do and I can’t keep procrastinating!  I will be leaving for Memphis in less than two weeks and I must get this house in order.  I also have to cook and freeze food for my mother and I hope to do that today.

Did you see my new NO-sew fleece project?  I uploaded that video last night too!  And I still need to show everyone the crazy quilt that I made and teach you that quilt as you go technique. Coming soon!

OMG, it’s New Year’s Eve!  I just snapped to that!  I hope you have a safe holiday weekend.  I’ll be staying home, as always.  Love staying home!

Have a great Saturday!

Darlene
XOXO

Easy 4-Can Baked Beans Recipe (aka Meatless Chili)

Easy 4-Can Baked Beans Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

1 can (16 oz) baked beans, undrained
1 can (15 oz) spicy chili beans, undrained
1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained, rinsed
1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chiles, undrained

Darlene’s Tip: This sounds a whole lot like meatless chili to me.  Add some cooked ground beef and turn this into chili with beans!  Either way, you could also add shredded cheese on top before serving.  And tortilla chips would be great on the side.  Cornbread would be good too!

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1:  Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 2-quart casserole with cooking spray. In large bowl, mix all ingredients. Pour into casserole.

Step 2:  Bake 1 hour or until thoroughly heated and flavors are blended.

Darlene’s Tip: You could also just heat in a pot on the stove.  Then if you want to keep it warm for a party, just throw it into a crockpot.
