I want to wish all my readers a very Happy Easter! We are not doing anything special today, just kicking back and relaxing. My mother is crocheting. I’ll be making some beads for the Old Timers Shop. We are eating homemade soup for lunch. And the sun is not shining. This is my kind of day!
It was one week ago that I proudly announced that I had reached 2,000 subscribers on my youtube channel. I’m thrilled to be able to report that just one week later, I have grown to over 2,600 subbies! That’s 600 new subscribers in just one week! I’m sure my growth will not always be that quick, but I’m very happy to have that good week under my belt.
I hope to start my new Youtube Tips series today. I want very much to encourage others to start their own youtube channel, whether it’s just for fun or for supplementing your income. You might be surprised at how easy it is to come up with content ideas, and you do not have to be on camera. I’d like my first youtube tips video to be all about the different kinds of content you can create. Just enough info to get your wheels spinning!
I hope you have an awesome day! I know holidays can be hard on many people, and that includes me. Just remember, there are no rules on how you should be spending you day. There is no right way or wrong way. It’s okay to be alone and it’s even okay to be sad about that. I’ll be available all day if you ever feel the need to reach out. You can email me privately at askdarlene@darlenemichaud.com.

Just want to let everyone know that my mother decided she wanted to use up the rest of her yarn on donation afghans! She’s crocheting right now! I asked her to make smaller ones now, specifically for lap blankets for people in wheelchairs. I would like her to make some even smaller for kids in wheelchairs too. I will provide video updates as she moves forward with her new project!
If anyone knows of organizations near Sanford, Maine that help people in need to get wheelchairs, I’d love to know about it. They could give an afghan along with the wheelchair! Let me know by commenting on my facebook page. Any suggestions will be appreciated!
And yes, I was sneaky with that photo! She has no clue I took it… tee hee!

It’s Saturday! And the sun is shining in Sanford. That makes me happy for those pesky fun-loving folks. lol You know I prefer clouds. Friday was gray and misty all day and I loved that!
I had quite an emotional day yesterday and that resulted in another crying video, this time in Hannaford’s parking lot. But the tears did me good. I’m feeling much better about things today, at least for the moment. It will be up and down for a bit and that’s what I expect. Just felt good to get a few things off my chest. And the comments I got on that video were very uplifting!!!
I am learning so much about youtube now that it’s my full time job. I’m learning such useful tips like how to use their tools to help promote my videos. How to increase watch time to increase earnings. I even beefed up my youtube homepage a bit. I didn’t know we could customize that page! I now have various playlists where you can watch your favorite type of videos. I’ll be creating more playlist, just takes a bit of time. Right now I have one for Tag Along with Me videos, Videos with Skylar, and even one named Watch Darlene Cry! lol You can see other playlists here, with more to come soon.
That’s it for right now! Stay tuned!

TGIF! I know Friday’s are the start of the weekend for many of you. For me, it’s just another day. All days are basically the same. It used to differ by what I watched on TV, but lately I don’t even put the TV on during the day. But I sleep with one on. All night. Every night.
Last night I slept fairly sound considering I told a ghost story before bed. But I woke up horribly startled by someone pounding on my back door early this morning. I covered my head and hoped it would just stop. Then they pounded on my front door. It was loud, like I was being raided, so I was forced to answer. It ended up being flowers for my mother. I’m not sure I even said thank you. I do know part of my hair was sticking straight up. Hope he liked that.
Looks like the FREE year subscription to Shape magazine is still available. Grab it while you can!
