Another day, another dollar! I hope to make more than a dollar, but I’ll take a dollar! lol
A few things I want to discuss with you today…
First, let me answer the question of the day. Everyone wants to know how I get FREE magazines sent to my door. I mentioned several times in my new Help Me Open My Mail video that all my mags were free (full year subscriptions too!), and now everyone wants them! I will try to find some free mag offers for you and will blog/vlog with the info when I do.
Next thing I want to mention is that is has just been brought to my attention that the last batch of beads that I delivered to the Old Timers Shop in Sanford (you’ll see the shop in that video) has already sold out. I will be delivering a new batch on Friday, April 1st. The new batch will also be priced at only $.40 per bag, so if you are local to Sanford, I hope you go back for more! This is a batch of beads I delivered 4 months ago to give you an idea of what I’m talking about. Each bag is unique, no two alike.
One last thing. I’ve come to the conclusion that it will take me much longer than expected to redo my site, facebook page, youtube channel, etc. It’s a lot of work and it’s just me working on it. So, please be patient and don’t just ship yet. I hope to be bringing lots of cool stuff once I can complete the transition!
Now, I need to get busy doin’ stuff!

It’s Hump Day! And that’s a very good way to describe my emotions lately. I have high highs and low lows. Changing careers is very scary territory, but I’m still loving my decision. There are just so many things that need to fall into place, and that takes time. I’m willing to wait, but my bank account is in a hurry. lol
I posted a craft video last night. I sure do need practice with those! I think I need to come up with some very easy crafts that are easier to record then work my way to the more complicated stuff. One thing with craft videos is you can’t do retakes because you can’t go back and magically undo the step you just did. Like you can’t uncut fabric, you know what I mean, jelly bean? I’ll get better with experience.
Another thing I must do, besides revamp the look of this blog, is revamp the look of my youtube channel. I have never paid attention to that. I currently have a banner of food from a shopping trip. That no longer reflects who I am. And it’s a lousy picture to begin with! I’m also learning the importance of good thumbnails on youtube, and I think I instinctively got that part correct. According to Video Creators (my newest youtube binge watching delight), thumbnails should reflect exactly what the video is about. I think mine do that. When you see my head on a pillow, you know I’m going to chat with you while yawning. lol
And speaking of binge watching, when I first got turned on to youtube, that very first night I spent 4 hours binge watching Bunny Meyer over on her grav3yardgirl channel. I was hooked! Not only was I hooked on Bunny, but I was hooked to the whole idea of expressing myself via video. I started recording immediately, but for the first 6 months it was just my voice, no face. This is the first video where I appeared on camera, and it was because I was so excited about all the yarn that my mother received for her birthday. I wanted to show everyone the yarn and also thank everyone in person!
Okay, back to binge watching. When I started publishing videos, I decided that if I ever got to the point where someone said they binge watched my videos, in my book, that meant I made it. It took over a year and more than 500 videos, but finally, I got the comments I desired!!!
Just found your channel tonight an I’m glad I did. You’re so much fun! Never thought watching someone shop would be so entertaining but you’re just hilarious. Can’t wait binge watch when I get the chance.
I have spent all day watching your videos, a very interesting, educated, well spoken, talented, loving lady!
I’m so glad I found your channel today. I have been watching all day and laughing my head off!!
You have no idea how happy those comments make me! If I can make anyone feel like Bunny made me feel that first night I binge watched until my iPad died, then in my heart, that’s all that matters.

P.S. If you are a youtube content creator, I highly suggest you watch Tim Schmoyer over on Video Creators. Tim is very helpful no matter if you’re just starting out or if you’ve been producing content for a long time!

I got 24 rolls of toilet paper delivered to my door today. This was the best package ever! Why? Because it’s a sign that I truly am recovering from couponing. lol
Ever since I stopped couponing full time, I have felt extremely guilty for spending money that I knew I could be saving. But there comes a time that we have to make choices, and one of my new choices is to focus on less stress in my life, even if it means spending more money. So when I placed an online order for my mother on , I only needed to spend a little more to get free shipping. I added the toilet paper to my cart and placed my order.
I can almost promise you I will never again buy toilet paper at the store. This was just too easy! And I’ll be doing lots more online shopping, even for non perishable foods. I like stress-free shopping!
. I like to pay less than $.50 for 1000 sheets, but I’m quite content with $.55 especially since it was easy.

Good afternoon everyone! It’s Tuesday, and I want to report that although I had a bit of a tough time yesterday with not picking up the flyer, I am 100% convinced I made the right choice. The amount of stress that was lifted from my soul was incredible. My main focus in life now is to try to live as stress free as possible. My income takes second place to that. I think if I get rid of more stress, the income will be able to flow in more freely!!!
My new plans for this blog will be to bring it right back to the basics of what a blog was originally intended to be. Way back when, it was a place people could share their thoughts and feelings, like an online diary. So, I will often chat with you this way now, especially for those of you who don’t care to watch videos. But I will still be doing videos. That form of therapy has been life changing for me.
I know I said my team and I would be posting Shaw’s deals over on Simply Shaw’s, but truth is, the good deals just are not there like they used to be. I found ONE DEAL yesterday that I was excited to post. But I will keep that blog up and running and will make a good attempt at helping it to thrive and we’ll just wait and see how it goes. Also, the Shaw’s Flyer will be posted there whenever someone shares the images with me.
I will be making lots of changes on my new DarleneMichaud.com blog (notice it’s no longer Deals by Darlene) so if there are times that it’s down or looks funky, that’s because I’m making changes. It’s a slow process, especially since I’m no pro when it comes to web design, but I’m too cheap to pay someone to do that for me. And I like to learn new things, so I’m gonna do it myself!

Just in case you have been living under a rock for the past week, I will no longer be scanning the Shaw’s Flyer. If I get images from someone else, I will post them on my Simply Shaw’s blog. All Shaw’s deals will appear on that blog too.
Shaw’s Flyer for 3/25 – 3/31
