2 Ingredient Broth Simmered Rice Recipe

NOTE: Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not test this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

INGREDIENTS:

1 3/4 cups Swanson Chicken Broth
3/4 cup uncooked long grain white rice

Darlene’s Tips: You can use any brand of chicken broth. You could also swap out for beef broth or veggie broth. I have even used water and just added bouillon.

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Heat the broth in a 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat to a boil.

Step 2: Stir the rice in the saucepan. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 20 minutes or until the rice is tender. Season to taste.

Sunday Chat – Quilt Block #18, Brady Bunch Trivia, Tote Bag Bidding War, Comments Today???

Posted by Darlene on May 14, 2017 at 10:25 am

Happy Sunday!

I want to wish all the mom’s out there a Happy Mother’s Day! As always, I think mostly about all those out there who are sad on days like this. There is nothing anyone can say to make you feel better. And not even sure the goal is to feel better. Sadness has its place in this world too. Just know it’s okay to be sad. No pressure to be happy! Just too stressful to always aim for happiness. lol

Yesterday, I was sad because the #18 block I made for the Quilt Block Party did not turn out the way I imagined. Better fabric choices would have gotten me to where I was going. But I am picking from a pre-determined stash that I started with, and that’s all I could do. The block is fine, just not up my alley. Nothing wrong with that!

I also uploaded a Trivia Quiz about The Brady Bunch. And I insist they are wrong on one of the questions. I never remember Bobby breaking his leg in the first season. Do you??? Sprained it, yes. But break it? Just don’t recall that. I think they made a boo boo in the quiz.

And have you checked my Crazy Quilt Tote Bag lately? The bidding war is insane!!! Seriously insane. I’m loving it! Remember, I started this bag at $20. See the high bid now!!! (OMG, it just went up again in the last few minutes!)

I also still have some lots of 100% Cotton Batik Fat Quarters up for grabs. I will be shopping for the fabric on Monday, so if you are a quilter, please get your order in if you want some fabric!

Today, I might read some comments. And do I dare attempt another quilt block? I want so much to wrap up that series this week so I can move on to something new! And yes, it will still be about quilt blocks. It has become on of my most watched series so I will keep at it!

Have a great Sunday!

Darlene xoxo

3 Ingredient Sweet and Sour Meatballs Recipe

NOTE: Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not test this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

INGREDIENTS:

1 jar (12 oz) chili sauce
1 1/2 cups grape jelly
2 lb (32 oz) frozen meatballs

Darlene’s Tips: You can use frozen breaded chicken nuggets for a tasty twist on this recipe. And if you don’t have a slow cooker, you can always heat this on your stove top in a sauce pan.

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Pour meatballs into a slow cooker. Combine jelly and chili sauce in a small bowl and pour over meatballs.

Step 2: Cook on low for 3-5 hours or until meatballs are heated through.

Step 3: Serve with toothpicks.

Saturday Chat – Tag Along to Walmart, Mason Jar Gift, Batik Fabric on eBay, Today’s Plans

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Happy Saturday!

I’m up before noon so in my world I’m off to a good start. I have so much to do!

Yesterday, I hit Marden’s to take pics of fabric. Then I listed some lots of 100% Cotton Batik Fat Quarters on ebay! And 3 of the lots sold overnight! Yay! And I noticed that my Crazy Quilt Tote Bag is up to $62.00. Very happy about that!

I also uploaded my Tag Along with Me to Walmart footage from the previous night. I love taking you shopping with me! Then I uploaded the very simple Mason Jar Gift I made for my mother for Mother’s Day. Please check it out!

Not sure what I feel like recording today. I’d love to get another quilt block knocked out then I’d have just two more left to do and could try to finish that series next week. That’s the plan! I’m so anxious to start a new series!

Have a great Saturday!

Darlene
XOXO
