Easy Savory Turkey Gravy Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
Drippings from roasted turkey
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 1/3 cups Progresso™ chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
Water
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Remove turkey from roasting pan. Place strainer over small bowl. Pour drippings (turkey juices and fat) from pan into strainer. Skim 2/3 cup fat from top of drippings; place fat in 3-quart saucepan. Discard any remaining fat (or if there is not enough fat, add enough melted butter to fat to measure 2/3 cup). Reserve remaining drippings.
Step 2: With wire whisk, stir flour into fat in saucepan. Cook over medium heat 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat.
Step 3: Measure reserved drippings together with broth; add enough water to equal 5 cups liquid. Gradually stir broth mixture into flour mixture. Heat to boiling over high heat (5 to 6 minutes), stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.

Yesterday – Sunday 11/20 – Day 4
When I got up, I had coffee with heavy cream.
Around 2:30pm, I ate the lovely meat concoction you see above. I ate every bit of it. It consisted of bacon, ground beef, a steak that I sliced up, and I cut up a pork chop so it would cook faster. I also threw in the bone so I could gnaw off the bits of fat and meat on that bone like the cave woman that I am. So good!
Then as you can see, I topped that with a hunk of butter. My newest and most exciting concoction is buttered meat!!! Whatever juice is left on the plate when I’m done, I drink it right off the plate. Yup!
Around 7:00pm, I picked on a bit of roast beef. Not much.
Around 10:00pm, I took a swig of light cream.
Around 1:00am, I picked on more roast beef. Again, not much.
I also drank water. And I had tons of energy.
I cooked for my mother yesterday so I could freeze her food for the week. I didn’t taste one bit of it. Did not even lick my fingers! I was not tempted in the least. You can see that here.
Food that entered my mouth yesterday: beef (ground, roast and steak), pork (bacon and chop), butter, heavy cream, light cream, coffee, water.
PLEASE READ: Please remember that it’s MY CHOICE to eat the way I want. If you think this is unhealthy, know I’m not as concerned with physical health. I’m more concerned with my mental health. I’m on a mission to feel better mentally… without cravings!!! I’m willing to test this so you don’t have to! But what works for me might not work for you. I’m not doing this to lose weight. I’m doing this because I’m convinced that I’m overly sensitive to carbs and that I must stay away from them if there is any chance of me feeling better. I’m eating from the animal kingdom, like the complete opposite of vegan. I know this upsets many, but I promise I won’t eat your pets. You are free to follow my progress/failures and you can even disagree with what I do. Just remember that I will get the last word because it’s my blog, my channel, my life! That’s the new me talking! (I think I’m growing balls! Let me look… yes, I see one starting to grow!)
I did lots of cooking for my mother yesterday. I now cook and freeze a variety of food for her so it’s easy for me to just grab what she wants and I don’t have to cook anything but my meat during the week (that sounds naughty!). And now I even made her a list of all that we have in the freezer and she just orders like she’s in a restaurant! She loves this! She just “ordered” her lunch, a hamburger patty, mashed potatoes and spinach. You can see the list and how I do this here. And if you are wondering, nope! I did not even taste a finger lick of all that food!
While I was cooking, I went ahead and showed you how I boil the beef for my mother. I know, I know, you’re thinking why on earth does anyone need to be shown that? It’s because I’m learning there are many people out there who have never cooked anything. So there really is no task too simple for a video. Even the most simple video will help many!
Not sure what I have planned for today, but I woke up with plenty of energy again, so I’m quite sure I’ll record something!
Step 1: Heat oven to 350°F. Sprinkle pork chops with seasoned salt and pepper. In 12-inch nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add pork chops; cook 4 to 6 minutes, turning once, until browned on both sides. Remove pork chops from skillet.
Step 2: In same skillet, mix water and contents of seasoning packet from stuffing mix. Heat to boiling. Remove from heat. Add stuffing; toss until moistened. Spoon into ungreased 12×8-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish. Arrange broccoli and pork chops over stuffing. Cover with foil.
Step 3: Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until pork chops are no longer pink in center.

What I ate yesterday! I’m starting a new daily series to let you all follow along to see what I’m eating. I want to do zero carb for at least a week, maybe two. We’ll see how it goes. Then I will be adding carbs as I go to test my mental health. I will not be recording food videos daily, but I will sometimes.

Yesterday – Saturday 11/19 – Day 3
Before I forget, I want to report that my cravings stopped on Day 1. Stopped completely. They also stopped immediately when I started my low carb plan back in August 2015. But when I fell off the wagon after a year, I was not sure I could get back to no cravings. But I did. Immediately. Day 1. Do love.
When I got up, I had coffee with heavy cream.
Around 1:00pm, I ate made a plate with the rest of this meat and egg concoction (pictured above, lasted me 3 days), heated up this time, and I also picked on roast beef. I didn’t bother to put the roast beef on my plate. I just ate from my plate and picked the deli roast beef from the bag as I wanted. It was a most wonderful lunch!
Around 4:00pm, I ate more roast beef. I also went out to buy more roast beef. I love roast beef. However, they add lots of stuff to it and I want none of that stuff. So I will soon be making my own roast beef and for sure I’ll show you how it comes out. I need to wait until after Thanksgiving because I must save room in my freezer to freeze my cooked turkey meat after I clean my turkey.
Around 7:00pm, I sliced some eye round and cooked that in butter, along with some of my bacon ends. This was incredibly delish! When I put that in my plate, I also poured the bacon fat and butter in my plate too and I added some cold roast beef to the mix and let it soak in that butter/fat broth. I’ve never loved a meal more.
Around 1:00am , I picked on a little bit more roast beef. Not much. And that was not because I was hungry. It was strictly by habit. That habit will die down in a bit. Meat is not only my main food, but it’s my snack too!
All I drank all day was water. At some point before bed, I took a couple of gulps of light cream, right out of the container, because I’m allowed to do that in my world.
Food that entered my mouth yesterday: beef, bacon, eggs, butter, cream, water
I know my food plan is going to get super repetitive, so I will also start adding info to these posts so you can do your own research if you want. And I totally appreciate any info you want to share with me, pro or con, and I especially want to hear your experiences if you are eating this way. But if you make any claims, like if you state something to be a fact “proving” my way of eating is not healthy or is going to kill me (by the way, what a way to go!) I ask that you always include the link to your source so I can check it out. Claims that goes against what I’m doing that is not linked to a reputable source will be ignored by me. I’ll gladly read any sourced info.

It’s Sunday!
I was able to accomplish organizing my freezer yesterday as planned. So happy about that! Now I know where all my lovely meat is. But I didn’t do any cooking for freezing. I hope to do that today.
And while stuff is cooking, I want to organize my refrigerator, do my dishes, do two loads of laundry, record a concoction video, record a freezing food video, and whatever else I come up with. lol It will be a miracle if I get all that done. But I might! My new zero carb plan is giving me tons of energy.
