I had a bunch of Duncan Hines Frosting Creations coupons (can you tell?) that we’ve been able to print over and over and over again, thanks to multiple printable coupon resets. Some of the coupons were getting close to expiring, so when I took a walk around Walmart today, I figured I’d make a little money on the frosting creations and buy some donuts and Easter eggs with what I earned!
Here’s what I did…
I bought (16) Duncan Hines frosting flavor packets at $.84 each
I bought (1) dozen donuts, reduced to $2.39
I bought (1) dozen plastic Easter eggs on sale for $.15 (75% off Easter clearance)
I used (16) $1/1 Duncan Hines frosting flavor packets printable coupons (it’s reset!!!)
I had a $2.56 overage which covered the donuts and the Easter eggs! After 1¢ tax on the eggs, I left with all this stuff plus a penny in my pocket!
I probably have 10 more frosting flavorings in my stockpile and have yet to use any! I’m going to start experimenting with all kinds of things and I’ll let you know what I come up with. Some of the best tips I’ve heard so far were to flavor cookie mix, whipped topping, and vanilla Kozy Shack pudding!
As for those Easter eggs, well… Santa will be confused this Christmas and he’s going to stuff Skylar’s stocking with Easter eggs that will be filled with Halloween treats that he’ll find in Halloween clearance later this year… tee hee. This is all part of the Christmas Challenge!
The donuts are for me my mother. We freeze donuts around here. Oh, she’s awake from her nap! Must go show her what I got…

I just got back from bringing Derrick and Skylar to the airport (mega bumming) and I hit Shaw’s on the way home. I wanted to see if I’d still get a double dip on catalinas, and I did! I used up every last coupon I had since I was making money on every 4 cans I buy!!!
I also was able to use up the rest of my Kozy Shack coupons, the ones for any flavor. I wish so much they had the chocolate pudding in stock because I still have chocolate coupons that expire on the 31st and I’d love to make a big donation to the food pantry.
I have no clue how many cans of pineapple I have now, but I know it’s a lot! The food pantry will be happy to see me on Friday!
Hey, you know what we Sanford shoppers could do? We could maybe meet at the shelter one a month and donate food! Just a thought… will work on that!
DOLE CATALINA DOUBLE DIP: This worked for me again today… if you buy 4 cans Dole pineapple, 20 oz, you will get a $.50 OYNO (was supposed to be done on the 24th but it’s still working) and a $.75 OYNO (that one just started).
I’m not going to take the time to do the breakdown. I’ll just say that I used the $.75/2 Dole pineapple coupons, the $.75/1 for the frozen fruit cups, the $.50/1 for the pudding, a catalina for 2 free cans of veggies (up to $3), a cat for a free Essential Everyday yogurt.
I did 6 separate transactions. I got 24 cans pineapple, 10 pudding, 1 can asparagus, 1 can corn, 3 frozen fruit cups 2-packs, 1 greek yogurt.
The way I worked it out, I paid $.25 for each transaction, total $1.50 OOP, and I still have $2.75 worth of OYNO catalinas left! So, I basically made money buying all this stuff!
Sunday night I made $5.80 profit buying all this stuff
Monday morning I spent $6.81 buying all this stuff
Tuesday I spent $1.50 buying the stuff you see above
In 3 days, I bought over $250 worth of food, my total out of pocket was $2.51 and I have $2.75 left to spend! This never ceases to amaze me. It’s just as exciting as the very first time!!!

I did a quickie shopping trip when I ran in to pick up the new Shaw’s flyer on Monday and want to show you how you can save mucho money if you shop in the reduced sections! If your Shaw’s does not have awesome reduced sections, ask your manager why not!

Remember the deal I did on Sunday? The one where I actually made $5.80 by shopping? (see here). If I put those two deals together, it works out that I got everything in the photo above and everything in the photo below, for a total of $1.01! That’s a lot of food for a buck and a penny! (puddings and pineapple are going to the food pantry)

I was so thrilled with this shopping trip that I just had to post it! Before you ask what I’m going to do with all that salad, the answer is eat it! I buy the leafy kind and it lasts forever! I’ve had bags a month past the date and they are perfect. But, they don’t last long with me. When I get free salad, I eat and eat and eat it. Love it! And my mother loves cooked greens, any greens. The salad will all be gone in 2 weeks. I was so happy to see all that salad in reduced… and I had coupons!!!
Here’s what I got and how I got it all for FREE!
I did 4 transactions. I asked for my own register so I could take the time to set everything up and double check all my coupons. It’s so much easier when you don’t have people standing behind you waiting!
(16) Dole Frozen Fruit 2-packs on sale for $2.00 each (see deal and coupons here)
(16) $.75/1 coupons, all coupons doubled
total $8.00
(16) Dole Pineapple on sale for $1.00 each (see deal and coupons here, still on sale!)
(8) $.75/2 coupons, all coupons doubled
(4) $.50 OYNO catalina coupons that I got from Dole pineapple
total $2.00
(16) Kozy Shack puddings at $1.00 each
(16) $.50/1 any Kozy Shack pudding 3/10 SS (exp 5/31) or here, all coupons doubled
FREE
(16) Fresh Express $.99 each in reduced produce
(16) $.55/1 Fresh Express 3/10 SS (exp 6/10) or here, all coupons doubled
(1) $3 off produce catalina coupon
FREE plus $4.76 money maker
(4) Essential Everyday frozen Garlic Bread on sale for $1.25 each
(4) $1/1 coupons
total $1.00
(2) Bakery Bread, one French $2.89, one Italian $1.99
(2) catalina coupons for FREE bakery bread, French or Italian
FREE
(1) Pizza at $.99
(1) catalina coupon for $1.50 off any frozen pizza
FREE plus $.51 money maker
Tax did funny things as usual and subtracted from the totals and I think they doubled 3 of my $.50 dole oyno???
I paid $4.20 at the register
I will get (2) $5.00 refunds from SavingStar for the frozen fruit cups (2 separate SavingStar accounts), total $10 refund
Final price is everything for FREE plus I made $5.80 profit after SavingStar!!!
And I have yet another $.50 OYNO catalina for next time!
Thanks so much for opening a register for me, Megan and Rob!!!

I ran in to Shaw’s today to pick up a few things before the sale for this week ends. I was very happy to see the Stonyfield Blends in stock because I had a rain check for them, and they gave me a nice overage to pay down the other stuff!

I thought I’d let you know what I got tonight at Shaw’s. I spent almost $24 which is a lot for me! I was almost depressed until I looked at everything I got. I was too tired to set up for a photo, so I’ll just tell you.
12 big cans RedPack tomatoes
2 cans Lucky Leaf pumpkin pie filling
4 pounds Carolina rice
6 pork chops
8 bananas
7 tomatoes
2 pounds carrots
1 bag almonds
1 bag hazelnuts
5 sweet potatoes
1 loaf French bread
1 bag Shaw’s cookies
I shopped for my produce in reduced and had coupons for lots of the stuff.
Total after I get my SavingStar refund for the pie filling is $23.47 and it looks like mostly healthy stuff!
I think that was a good score considering the total before savings was $56.71. And that total would have been way more had I paid full price for the reduced bread and reduced produce.

I picked up some goodies today at CVS and Shaw’s. I had a rain check for Minute Rice at CVS and I finally picked them up before my coupons ran out. Then I got lucky in reduced dairy at Shaw’s and got a nice $1.50 overage on creamer. And I was also able to use the last of my chicken breast coupons! They even had the tuna in stock :O)
Here’s what I bought and the coupons I used:
(6) Milford Valley stuffed chicken breast, $1.99 each
Used (6) $.75/1 Milford Valley (NLA), all doubled
(2) Chicken of the Sea tuna, $1.00 each
Used (2) $.50/1 Chicken of the Sea, both doubled
(3) Coffee Mate creamers in reduced, $1.00 each
Used (3) $.75/1 Coffee Mate (NLA), all doubled
Total at Shaw’s was $1.10 (it subtracted $.34 tax)
(2) Minute Rice, $1.00 with rain check (CVS)
Use (2) $.60/1 Minute Rice (NLA)
Total at CVS was $.80
I paid $1.90 for everything!
NOTE: If you have rain checks for the Milford Valley chicken, the coupons need to be doubled manually. It’s a good idea to print what Dan said on Shaw’s facebook page. He said they are to be doubled!

On Sunday, 1/20, I took a little trip to Shaw’s to pick up some free food! Not only did I get EVERYTHING you see in the photo for FREE, but after I get my SavingStar refunds, I will have made $1.98 profit on this trip!
I can’t take the time to post the breakdown, but I’ll tell you that I did two transactions so I could do SavingStar on both my card and my husband’s card (we both have SavingStar accounts). This also allowed all my coupons to double. And I used the bonus coupons and catalinas on each transaction.
The icing on the cake is that not only did I have lovely catalinas that I got from previous transactions, but a coupon fairy left some awesome cats in the coupon boxes by the door! I got $1.00 off each Gotta Love Great Deals item! After stacking those with manufacturer coupons, I had overages that covered the items that were not outright free with coupons.
I got…
(2) boxes cereal
(6) grapefruit juice
(2) bags laundry detergent pods
(2) bags sweet potato fries
(8) boxes stuffed chicken breasts
(2) boxes candy
(4) boxes fruit snacks
(4) containers salt
(2) boxes pepto tablets
(4) fruit pouches
(2) boxes granola bars
(4) yogurts
(8) kikkoman seasoning packets
(2) bags 2 lb carrots
(3) bags 5 lb grapefruit
This was my best trip in a long time!

This is what I got at Shaw’s today (1/4). I can’t possibly break it all down because I’m beat. I think most of you know the deals. If not, ask me and I’ll direct you to the posts that will help you out.
I will give you some details.
All sale prices had to be changed manually in Sanford, no matter how high your total is. They told me that before I even got to the register. All bonus coupons had to be entered manually too. They are hoping this gets fixed soon. Be sure you know what your final total is supposed to be.
The Stretch Island Fruit Chews (in Sanford) are in aisle 4 sort of near the “candy” sign on the bottom shelf. As expected, the coupons only double up to the regular price of $.69.
I got that Earthbound Farm lettuce in reduced and I did not see any more in the store.
These are the items I got for the bonus coupons:
EE cooking spray, $1.99, $.49 after coupon
WH honey, $3.19, $.19 after email coupon and bonus coupon (let me use both)
CC spinach dip in reduced deli, $.49 after $1.00 stickie and bonus coupon
EQ bandages, $2.49, free after bonus coupon
I got this stuff. I shop in Sanford and I get the overages
If you want to know which coupons I used, leave a comment
(2) Scott toiler paper, 12 rolls
(4) boxes Cheerios
(18) Yoplait (Simplait, Lactose Free)
(2) Yoplait Greek
(4) Chex Mix
(4) Stretch Island Fruit Chews
(2) Bread in reduced
(4) Apples in reduced
(1) 5lb bag of Potatoes in reduced
(1) Earthbound Farm Romaine, 3 pk, in reduced
(1) Essential Everyday cooking spray
(1) Wild Harvest Honey
(1) box Equaline bandages
(1) Culinary Circle spinach dip in reduced
I skipped the clementines and will buy those on the next trip.
I paid $18.45 including tax
I will get a $2.15 total refund from SavingStar
My final out of pocket is $16.30
$12.35 of my trip was for the toilet paper including tax
That means I only paid $3.95 for everything else!
Oh, I also got 3 catalina to use next time with NO minimum purchase!
$1.50 off any granola bar
$1.50 off any laundry detergent
$1.00 off any Great Deal item (that one is for 1/18-1/24)
Boo hoo! I forgot to use my $5.00 off Shaw’s Recyclebank coupon! I have never used one because it says minimum $50 after coupons, but so many of you say they scan it first. I wanted so much to try it! I honestly think they will reimburse me for it if I bring in the coupon and my receipt. Man, that would be like getting one of the packs of toilet paper for around a buck!

I just want to remind you about the chips and salsa deal at Shaw’s this week. I have not tried the salsa yet, but it’s sitting in my refrigerator just waiting for me!
Here’s the deal at Shaw’s through 1/3:
TIP: The Shaw’s printable coupons are famous for NOT deducting when scanned. Make sure you watch the total to be sure it comes off. If not, they will enter manually for you.

Buy (1) Essential Everyday Salsa (in dairy) on sale for $1.69
Use (1) $1/2 Shoppers Value Tortilla Chips printable Shaw’s store coupon
Use (1) $1/1 Essential Everyday Salsa printable Shaw’s store coupon
Final price is only $3.27 for everything!
