Here I am again with my typical holiday post. I know many of you out there are excited for Christmas and anxious for all the relatives to gather and to feast on food and open gifts and all that stuff.
Others are majorly depressed and even suicidal.
I used to fall into the majorly depressed category on Christmas, so I took the pressure away by not celebrating it. No tree. No gifts. No special food. No family. None of that stuff. It’s not that I’m a scrooge. It’s that I have to put myself first and do things the way I need to do them in order to survive.
It’s okay if you treat the holidays as any other day too. It really is! Don’t consider it as giving in to depression. See it as making adjustments so you can live a better life! Don’t put pressure on yourself to be happy. Don’t feel guilty if you are sad or even mad. Give yourself permission to just be yourself. And trust me when I say I understand how you feel!
If you are celebrating Christmas, I wish you much happiness and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
For the rest of us, I hope you have a great Saturday! It’s just another day!

NOTE:I get messages asking me why I post these types of recipes while I’m following a zero carb animal kingdom only food plan. My answer is because I’m following ZC, but I bet you’re not! Just because I eat a certain way does not mean I have to limit myself to sharing only meat recipes. I’m not the carb police! lol
1 box (18.3 oz) Betty Crocker fudge brownie mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
12 small candy canes
Betty Crocker Decorating Cookie Icing (assorted colors), if desired
Betty Crocker Decorating Sprinkles (assorted colors), if desired
M&M’s milk chocolate candies (assorted colors), if desired
*Darlene’s Tip:Any brownie will will work! Or if you don’t want to bake, just use store bought cookies and let the kids decorate them. Great activity for them during a Christmas gathering! You could also use shoestring licorice for the hooks.
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Heat oven to 350°F. Line 13×9-inch pan with foil, letting foil hang 2 inches over sides of pan. Spray foil with cooking spray. Make brownie batter as directed on box. Spread in pan.
Step 2: Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out clean. Transfer to cooling rack to cool completely, about 1 hour. Freeze in pan 30 minutes.
Step 3: Using foil to lift, remove brownies from pan, and peel foil away. Use 3-inch round cutter to cut out 8 brownie rounds. Use 1 3/4-inch round cutter to cut out smaller rounds from remaining brownie. Set aside leftover pieces for snacking.
Step 4: Cut hook off each candy cane; unwrap, and use to create hooks on brownie circles. Reserve remaining pieces of candy canes for another use.
Step 5: Decorate as desired using icing, sprinkles and candies. Let stand about 30 minutes or until icing is set. Store covered in airtight container at room temperature with waxed paper between layers.

READING MATERIAL: Catch up on some of the posts from the public facebook group I’m in, Zeroing In On Health. Please don’t request to join this group unless you are serious about starting this way of life and are ready to start it now, not tomorrow, not after the holidays, not after eating all the carbs that remain in your house, but now. lol The group gets many requests to join and there is now a process in place that allows the admin to ask questions of potential members before letting them join (read Charles’ post for more on that). But it’s a public group, so you don’t need to join to read the comments or the files. Happy reading!
I had my usual cup of coffee with hwc when I got up.
At 4:30pm, I ate what you see above. This time, I didn’t feel like adding bacon. It was just chicken, sliced beef (from this shopping trip), ground beef and shrimp (from this shopping trip). I ate at least 3/4 of what you see in the photo, including all the chicken. Oh, this was all cooked in butter, of course.
At 5:00pm, I had a decafe with HWC to finish off my meal.
At 9:00am, I ate about a pound total of deli roast beef and deli turkey breast. I like to take a thin slice of each, stack them and roll it up. So yummers!
At 1:00am, I ate more of the same deli meat, has a swig of light cream then went back to bed.
Food that entered my mouth yesterday: chicken, beef slices, ground beef, shrimp, butter, deli roast beef, deli turkey breast, light cream, heavy whipping cream, coffee, salt, pepper, lots of water.
PLEASE READ: Please remember that it’s MY CHOICE to eat the way I want. If you think this is unhealthy, know I’m not as concerned with physical health. I’m more concerned with my mental health. I’m on a mission to feel better mentally… without cravings!!! I’m willing to test this so you don’t have to! But what works for me might not work for you. I’m not doing this to lose weight. I’m doing this because I’m convinced that I’m overly sensitive to carbs and that I must stay away from them if there is any chance of me feeling better. I’m eating from the animal kingdom only, like the complete opposite of vegan. I know this upsets many, but I promise I won’t eat your pets. You are free to follow my progress/failures and you can even disagree with what I do. Just remember that I will get the last word because it’s my blog, my channel, my life! That’s the new me talking! (I think I’m growing balls! Let me look… yes, I see one starting to grow!)

TGIF!
Howdy ho! I hope everyone is kicking back and getting ready for the big weekend! I’m ready. Ready to do nothing all weekend. lol If you watch yesterday’s Tag Along with Me video, you’ll learn that I do nothing for Christmas. Nothing. I like to get through the holidays as stress free as possible.
Not sure what I’ll be up to today. I’d like to do more sewing. Sandy Pro and I might go out for a bit and if we do, we’d like to hit Marden’s. They have tons of fabric. Even though I have a cellar full of fabric (I must show you that sometime!), I still need a few things like more batting and fusible web. I also need 100% cotton t-shirt knit to make myself a few new house shirts. It’s such a joy to look at fabric!
